Gene Wyll, M.D.
Ophthalmologist, Surgeon and Contact Lens Specialist

Glaucoma Management

Having a comprehensive dilated eye examination by Dr. Wyll is the best way to detect glaucoma.  There are several important parts of a glaucoma exam that he performs:
  • Direct measurement of the intraocular pressure (IOP)
  • Direct visualization of the drainage angle (gonioscopy)
  • Examination of the optic nerve by direct visualization to look for loss of optic nerve tissue

Additional diagnostic testing may also be performed during your exam including imaging and stereo photography of the optic nerve, visual field exam and corneal thickness measurement.

After your exam is completed Dr. Wyll will discuss the results and recommend a comprehensive personalized course of treatment.
